3D Android Multiplayer Chess Game
USD 250–750
About the project
I want a complete Android chess app that feels modern and social. The board and pieces should be fully 3-D, rendered smoothly on mid-range phones, with intuitive pinch-zoom and rotate gestures so matches feel immersive rather than flat. Core gameplay centres on real-time online multiplayer. Players must be able to start a quick match against anyone worldwide or create a private room and invite friends. While a game is running, a lightweight in-app chat window should sit beneath the board so opponents can talk without switching screens. Around the games, I need a simple community layer: • Persistent friend list so users can add, remove, and directly challenge contacts. • Elo-style ranking system with leaderboards that update automatically after each rated match. Google, Facebook, or email sign-in are all fine as long as accounts sync the friends list and ranking data. For networking and real-time state sync I am happy with Firebase, Photon, or another stable solution; choose whichever you are most comfortable optimising. Deliverables • Android Studio project with clean, well-commented Kotlin or Java code • 3-D assets for pieces and board (original or properly licensed) • Backend configuration/scripts for multiplayer, chat, rankings, and friends • Brief build & deployment guide so I can reproduce the release from scratch Acceptance criteria 1. Two players on different devices can finish a full game with no desyncs. 2. Chat messages appear instantly (<300 ms latency on Wi-Fi). 3. Rankings update correctly after each rated match. 4. Friend invitations trigger push notifications and start a private game. If any part of the spec is unclear, let me know early so we can keep scope tight and timeline realistic.
