Refine 3D parts of consumer food storage container for Tooling

About the project

I already have a functioning 3-D model of a food-container lid with a hinged lever, built in Shapr3D. The concept works, but three functional areas need a professional mechanical engineer’s eye before I move on to steel tooling. 1. Snap-to-axle joint The lever currently clips onto an axle, yet the joint still feels fragile and slightly gritty. Your task is to rethink that connection so it survives repetitive opening and closing while running smoothly. Durability and a silkier action are the two metrics I care about most here. 2. Valve mechanism Closing the lever simultaneously seals a small air valve. The present solution does the job, but it is over-complicated and prone to tiny alignment errors. I want the same function achieved with less complexity and greater inherent reliability. 3. Check and improve overall geometry and tolerances Once we have prototype-level confidence in both areas, I need the parts reshaped for efficient injection moulding: correct draft angles, uniform wall thicknesses, proper coring, gate and ejector considerations, etc. The final data must import cleanly back into Shapr3D and arrive to my toolmaker as a complete export package (STEP, IGES, 2-D drawings as required). Deliverables • Revised Shapr3D files with updated snap joint and valve • Manufacturable STEP/IGES package plus 2-D drawings for tooling • Brief design report explaining the key changes and material or tolerance choices Show me comparable lids, hinges, or valve work you have done, outline your process, and give me a concise proposal for prototyping and revision rounds. That evidence of past work, reference projects, experience, and a clear plan will decide the hire.
