About the project

I need a compact, handheld housing built around three laser diodes I already own— violet, green and red, each 10 mW in 8 mm line-collimated cans that run from 5 V. The finished module will serve as an experimental multi-spectrum light exposure device for personal research, so clean beam alignment, minimal stray light and basic user safety are essential. If you are local to Denver, CO and vicinity, you will be given preference. LET ME KNOW YOUR LOCATION IN MESSAGE Here is what I’m bringing to the table and what I’m expecting from you: Materials needed, and their purpose: • Programmable microcontroller (e.g., Raspberry Pi Pico, ESP32, or Arduino Nano) to input oscillatory frequencies that control the diodes as a single unit, and a timer to select running time. • Oscillator specs: Each setting will have 4 programmable ‘slots’. These will repeatedly run in sequence for the selected running time.  • USB computer connection and software required to connect the microcontroller to a computer to program oscillation frequencies. • Small OLED screen, push-buttons or switches, rotary encoder, to view and move between pre-programmed frequency sets. • USB rechargeable power supply. • Case --- using off the shelf parts or 3d printed (designed to accommodate the three 8mm diameter line-generating lasers and manage mild heat dissipation). • Switches to separately turn diodes on and off. • Any other internal wires needed to make connections. This includes: • Programmed Oscillations: Implement adjustable pulse-width modulation (PWM) to create specific frequency oscillations for the lasers. • Driver Circuitry: Design a safe, USB rechargeable power distribution system capable of driving three 5V, 10mW lasers simultaneously. • User Control: Integrate a simple interface (e.g., small OLED screen, push-buttons, a rotary encoder) to select between different programmed oscillation profiles Deliverables 1. Fully assembled modules (2–4 identical pieces, as agreed). --- The following may be optional: 2. CAD files and printable drawings for the enclosure 3. Schematic, wiring diagram and complete BOM. --- If you are not local: 4. Short video or photo log that shows the build and confirms correct operation of each wavelength. 5. Secure packaging and tracked shipping to my address. If you have experience with small-run prototyping, and neat design, let’s put these beams in one package.
