About the project

I am looking for an Electrical who is both an electrical engineer and an experienced 3D CAD/product designer to refine and finalize a compact consumer product prototype. It is a part that is back lit with a few tiny LED lights that has a tiny control that turns the light on/off, has brightness control, and has light color control. I would like my design to have three or less 3D printed parts. You will help me pick the best 3D printing material for my project. I would like this done in 10 to 14 days. The exact product concept will only be shared with the selected freelancer after confidentiality/NDA terms are agreed to. The freelancer must be able to: Review my current concept and redesign it as needed. Design the mechanical enclosure/body and all internal mounting features. Design the complete low-voltage electrical system. Select the correct electronic components based on size, safety, heat, power use, reliability, and cost. Find inexpensive, readily available parts from suppliers in the United States. Provide exact supplier links, part numbers, quantities, and alternatives when appropriate. Design the product so all electronic parts physically fit inside the enclosure. Design for safe operation, including proper insulation, wiring, battery protection, short-circuit prevention, heat management, and fire-risk reduction. Make sure the finished product can be assembled, operated, opened for service, and reassembled properly. Keep the design compact, lightweight, practical, and easy to manufacture. You will find and provide the links to all needed parts in the United States. I need the parts to be cheap and easy to assemble. Design a secure snap-fit enclosure where appropriate. Make reasonable design changes I request until the final design is correct and meets the agreed requirements. Help resolve any mechanical or electrical problems discovered during prototyping. It must snap together easily, stays together through normal rigorous usage, and be easy for the user to change the battery. You will allow me time to 3D print and test the design. You must source the parts I need and find cheap and reliable parts for me to purchase to keep my costs low. You will allow me time to order the parts and get them delivered, assemble the parts, install the parts, and test the parts. Required Deliverables The freelancer must provide: Editable/native CAD source files STEP files STL files for every 3D-printed part 3MF files when useful Dimensioned drawings Exploded assembly drawing Internal component layout Complete electrical schematic/wiring diagram Battery and power design Complete bill of materials Exact U.S. supplier links and part numbers Recommended substitute components Assembly instructions Wiring and soldering instructions Step-by-step build instructions Testing instructions Safety checks before use Recommended 3D-print settings for my Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 Recommended filament/material Snap-fit tolerances and assembly clearances Any firmware/code files if required The final design must not only look correct in CAD. It must be engineered so it can print, fit, assemble, power on, operate correctly, and be serviced in real-world use. I need someone who can handle both the mechanical design and the electrical engineering, rather than designing the enclosure first and leaving me to figure out which electronic components will fit later. Please bid only if you have experience with: Electrical engineering Small battery-powered electronics LEDs and lighting circuits Compact circuit design Battery safety Heat management CAD/product design Precision 3D printing Snap-fit enclosures Prototype development Sourcing electronic components in the United States Please include examples of similar mechanical/electrical products you have designed. Important: Detailed drawings, images, dimensions, and the exact product concept will be shared only with the selected freelancer after confidentiality terms are in place. You will need to sign my work made for hire agreement and non reverse engineer agreement. I will own the full and exclusive copyrights to all source file, software, text, images, raw files, project files, and all work created for me. I will keep all work you provide the source file, software, text, images, raw files, source files, project files, and all work created for me, and I will own all copyrights to all work. I will release the full milestone when my project is completed, tested, delivered, and accepted by me. I do not pay any milestones until source file, software, text, images, raw files, project files is completed, all files delivered, assembled, tested, and accepted by me. If your work is High Quality and exactly what I need I would be interested in considering you for Future projects. I don't communicate on Sundays and I don't expect you to work on Sundays.
