Mechanical / CAD Product Design Engineer - Smart Product Prototype Project Description HappyMat(TM) is seeking an experienced Mechanical / CAD Product Design Engineer to design the physical structure and electronics packaging for HappyMat Prototype #1. This prototype contains electronic and mechanical components that must be integrated into a durable, functional, and serviceable physical structure. Primary Responsibilities: • Design the physical mat structure. • Design electronics packaging. • Develop mounting solutions for the display, camera, sensors, LEDs, controller, wiring, and other modules. • Protect primary electronics from normal stepping loads. • Make the prototype serviceable. • Create CAD models and drawings. • Prepare designs for 3D printing, CNC, or other prototype fabrication. • Revise designs as components are assembled and tested. • Deliver all project-specific CAD files and applicable drawings. Preferred Skills / Experience: SolidWorks; Fusion 360 or Equivalent; Product Design; Enclosure Design; Electronics Packaging; 3D Printing; CNC; Prototype Fabrication; Materials; Design for Assembly COMPENSATION - $700 USD FOR THIS TEAM MEMBER Fixed Price: $700 USD for this individual position. The selected professional for this position will receive $700 USD total for successful completion of the complete assigned scope. HappyMat is assembling a multidisciplinary engineering team. Each team member is hired separately and each team member receives their own $700 USD fixed payment for their individual assigned scope. The $700 payment is NOT shared or divided among the engineering team. This is a fixed-price project, not an hourly position. How to Apply: Begin your proposal with HAPPYMAT. Teamwork requirement: The selected professional must communicate reliably with the other HappyMat team members, participate in integration and testing as applicable, and deliver all project-specific work files associated with the assigned role.
