About the project

Building Envelope / Thermal / Fire Consultant High-Performance Modular Wall Assembly Development Project Overview The STEEL ONE concept deliberately separates the primary steel structural cage from the building envelope. We are seeking an envelope specialist to develop the layers around the cage so the overall wall system can address thermal bridging, condensation, air/water control, corrosion exposure and fire protection. Primary Responsibilities • Develop conceptual wall assemblies around the structural cage. • Analyze continuous insulation and thermal-break strategies. • Assess condensation risk and vapor-control approach by climate. • Develop drainage, flashing, weep and rainscreen concepts. • Recommend air-barrier and water-resistive barrier continuity details. • Advise on protection of steel and connectors within fire-resistance strategies. • Help define the physical testing program for wall assemblies. Required Qualifications • Building-envelope engineering, building science or façade consulting experience. • Strong knowledge of thermal bridging, condensation, air leakage and water management. • Understanding of noncombustible insulation and fire-protection approaches for steel assemblies. • Ability to coordinate with structural, façade and architectural teams. Preferred Experience • Provide examples of wall assemblies you have designed or analyzed. • State your experience with thermal modeling and moisture analysis. • Describe any ASTM/UL or façade testing programs you have supported. • Provide hourly rate or Phase 1 fixed-fee proposal. Initial Deliverables • WUFI/THERM or similar hygrothermal/thermal modeling. • ASTM/UL wall-assembly testing familiarity. • High-performance residential and commercial envelope design. When Applying • Conceptual envelope stack-ups for multiple climate/use cases. • Thermal-bridge and condensation risk review. • Air/water/drainage continuity details. • Fire-protection development recommendations. • Testing and validation roadmap. Confidentiality: STEEL ONE is proprietary and patent-pending technology. Initial discussions should remain non-confidential. Detailed geometry, connection concepts, engineering information and manufacturing details should be shared only after an NDA/IP agreement is in place. Engagement structure: Milestone-based. The first phase should focus on review, technical critique and a clearly defined development plan before deeper engineering work begins.
