Night Drive Visual Identity: Looping Pixel-Art GIF, Case Art, Packaging & 3 Ad Posts
USD 30–250
About the project
We're Techs, a hardware product studio. Our first product, Graby, is a premium iPhone 15 case with a small screen on the back that plays a looping animation, plus art printed on the case itself. The whole product is built around one idea: self-expression. THE IDEA: A "THEME" Every Graby is sold as a complete Theme: one story told through everything the customer sees and touches. That means the animation on the screen, the art on the case, the box, and the ads. Together they should feel like one world, not four separate designs. OUR FIRST THEME: NIGHT DRIVE Night Drive is about the double life of a car lover. When the sun goes down, the city becomes his track: neon reflections on wet asphalt, tires screaming through a drift, rival headlights in the mirror, engines you can almost hear. Then morning comes, and he's back to an ordinary, quiet life, waiting for dark. Our customer lives that same double life, so this is a story he recognizes in himself. The day appears only as a quiet contrast (a hint, a color shift, a silhouette). The night is the hero. Mood: cinematic, energetic, premium. Not cartoonish, not childish, no cluttered racing-sticker look. Something a car lover wants to look at every single day. One hero car is enough. You may add rivals (headlights, taillights, silhouettes) if it makes the story stronger. Showing the guy is optional (from behind, or as a silhouette). We're open to your creativity. THE STORY: EVERY PIECE IS A CHAPTER - Packaging: the hook. It makes someone stop in a store and pick it up. - Cover: the night itself, frozen in one image. - GIF: the night in motion. - Posts: three different angles on the same night. Each piece must work on its own AND feel like the next page of the same story, with a shared palette, lighting and world. WHAT WE NEED 1) LOOPING GIF (plays on the product's screen) - Display: 1.69" TFT, 240 x 280 px. We'll confirm portrait or landscape before you start. - Seamless closed loop, no visible jump. Suggested 3-6 seconds at 12-20 fps. We'll confirm the final file-size limit with you. - Style: high-detail "HD pixel art". A clear pixel feel, but not heavily pixelated. Rich lighting, not retro-blocky. - Lots of life: parallax city, rain, tire smoke, sparks, light streaks, wet-asphalt reflections, flickering neon signs, headlight bloom. Something people want to watch twice. - The screen has limited color depth, so use a controlled palette and deliberate dithering for gradients to avoid banding. We'll test on the real screen and send one round of feedback. - Deliver: final GIF at native size, a 4x master, and the source file (Aseprite / Photoshop / After Effects). 2) CASE COVER ARTWORK (printed on the back of the case) - We'll send a flat print template (back panel, camera cutout, screen window, button positions, bleed) and renders of the case. - The screen sits at the top beside the camera. Make the artwork connect to it so the screen's glow feels like part of the illustration. - Lighting should feel cinematic (light spilling on wet surfaces, reflections, depth), not flat glowing outlines. - It's printed on a matte surface, so use deep dark base tones and print-friendly color that still pops. We'll confirm exact print specs with our printer. - It must look expensive on a desk and in the hand. - Deliver: print-ready layered file (300+ dpi, with bleed), a flat preview, and a mockup on the case. 3) PACKAGING The box has two jobs. Job 1, grab attention: make a stranger in a store stop and pick it up. It should stand out on a shelf from a few meters away and read in about 2 seconds, with one strong focal point, bold contrast and minimal text. Job 2, show what's inside: a shopper who has never heard of us should understand right away that this is a smart iPhone 15 case with a built-in screen that plays animated GIFs. Show it rather than only saying it, for example the case with its screen lit and alive, plus one short, clear line in your own wording. Layout: - Front of the box: the case shown from its art side, where the main artwork and the glowing screen are visible. This is the night at full intensity. - Back of the box: the case shown from the side where the phone is housed, with the key features laid out cleanly. - Feature strip at the bottom (small and tidy, not part of the main art): a short note that you can upload your own GIFs, plus any other features we send you. - Inside the lid: your call (for example, a quiet hint of the "day" side of the story). We'll provide the box dimensions, dieline, product description and feature text. Finish ideas (spot UV, foil, emboss) are welcome if they're practical to print. - Deliver: print-ready artwork on the dieline plus a 3D mockup. 4) SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS (3 minimum) - Three clearly different posts about the same product, each a different story beat, each strong enough to run as a paid ad. - Suggested angles (improve them if you have better): (a) Two Lives: grey day vs. neon night; (b) The Race: rivals, drift, speed, with the case screen glowing; (c) The Detail: a close-up of the product with the screen alive against the dark city. - Format: 1080x1350 (4:5), plus a 9:16 story crop of each. - We provide product renders. Copy should be short and minimal, in English. No spec lists: we sell stories, not specs. - Deliver: final PNG/JPG plus layered source files. RULES - Use whatever tools you like to get the best result. The final work must be original and clearly art-directed by you. It must not look like stock, templates, or generic AI output. - Full copyright of all final work transfers to us on final payment. No posting the work publicly before our launch without written permission. A short confidentiality and copyright-transfer note will be signed with the final delivery. WE PROVIDE Techs logo (vector), case renders and flat print template, display specs, box dimensions, dieline and feature text, brand direction (dark, premium, never childish), a mood reference, and product renders. PROCESS: 10 DAYS MAXIMUM, 4 MILESTONES 1. By day 2: concept. A mood board, a short story outline, and one key style frame. We approve before you continue. 2. By day 5: GIF and cover drafts, then finals. 3. By day 8: packaging and 3 post drafts. 4. By day 10: final revisions and all files delivered. Two revision rounds per deliverable are included. Please share work in progress at each milestone. BUDGET $80 total, fixed, paid by milestone. TO APPLY 1. Links to 2-3 of your best pieces, including one looping animation and one packaging or key-art piece. 2. In 4-5 sentences: how would you tell the Night Drive story across the four pieces? 3.
