Job Title: AI Training Data Sourcing Specialist (CAD, 3D Assets & Engineering Designs) Project Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Acquisition Specialist or Asset Broker to source high-quality, production-grade CAD models, 3D assets, and engineering designs at scale for spatial AI and 3D foundation model training. This role focuses on sourcing, vetting, and securing non-exclusive sub-licensing rights for proprietary design files across industrial design, mechanical engineering, architecture, electronics, and 3D modeling domains. Key Responsibilities Large-Scale Design Sourcing: Identify and onboard engineers, 3D artists, architectural firms, and product designers willing to license non-exclusive rights to their proprietary design repositories. Format & Asset Variety: Sourced files must include native parametric formats and standard interchange formats: Mechanical/Industrial CAD: STEP, IGES, SolidWorks (.sldprt, .sldasm), Fusion 360, AutoCAD (.dwg, .dxf). 3D Models & CGI: Blender (.blend), OBJ, FBX, GLTF/GLB with full UV maps, materials, and clean topology. Electronics & Architecture: PCB layouts/schematics (Altium, KiCad, Gerber) and BIM files (Revit, IFC). Rights & IP Verification: Verify that all design assets have 100% clean intellectual property rights, zero trademark/brand copyright violations, and explicit authorization from original creators. Anonymization & Scrubbing: Ensure all proprietary client branding, title blocks, project metadata, and sensitive engineering annotations are thoroughly scrubbed. Mandatory Pre-Hire Condition Non-Negotiable Requirement: Final contract execution and project kickoff are strictly contingent upon sample review. Candidates must provide access to 2–3 sample design packages (e.g., full CAD assemblies, complex 3D models with texture maps, or PCB project files) during the proposal evaluation phase. We will inspect file integrity, topology, parametric depth, and rights documentation before any milestone funds are released. Candidate Qualifications Proven track record in digital asset procurement, CAD/3D data brokerage, or IP licensing for AI/ML training data. Technical familiarity with CAD software, 3D modeling pipelines, parametric feature trees, mesh watertightness, and file export formats. Established network or pipeline to reach CAD designers, freelance 3D artists, or engineering agencies at scale. Deep understanding of copyright, commercial sub-licensing, and trademark restrictions (avoiding protected corporate designs like specific car models, branded consumer tech, or trademarked logos).
