Description

A commercial geostationary communications satellite on the SSL 1300 bus, the platform Space Systems/Loral builds in Palo Alto, California. The model shows the tall box body with silver radiator panels, a dark top deck carrying antenna feeds, four side dish reflectors and two long solar wings with cross-shaped panel layouts.

Technical details: about 182,000 polygons and 248,000 vertices, with 31 colour materials and no image textures. That is dense, so decimate it before mobile or VR use. It is scaled to 5 metres for AiZity's catalogue scale.

The download includes GLB for web viewers and three.js, FBX for Unity, Unreal Engine and Maya, OBJ as a widely supported mesh, and BLEND for Blender. AiZity cleaned up the original (centred, grounded and renamed the parts) and converted it to these formats.

Good for satellite TV and telecoms explainers, geostationary orbit animations, broadcast presentations and fleet scenes.

NASA logos and insignia are not included, and use must not suggest NASA endorsement. SSL 1300 is a company's satellite product line, so this model is marked for editorial use.
