Craftsman Pergola Connector CAD
USD 750–1500
About the project
I need a detailed CAD design that links my detached garage to the front porch with a covered Craftsman-style pergola, flanked by a bluestone-and-granite walkway and a small retaining wall. The connector’s main job is to give people and packages dry passage between the two structures while blending seamlessly with the house’s existing Craftsman character. This should not be attached or tied into existing structures. Drip edge from garage onto pergola structure can be mitigated by a gutter intonation barrel system for garden watering. Structure & materials The pergola should read as true Craftsman: tapered posts, modest bracket details, and exposed joinery. Posts shall be grounded by cement pilings, with attention to location and grading of the ground. Primary members will be stained wood (fir/cedar); rail accents and hardware can be iron. Shed roof with slight pitch forward to avoid drip edge onto back stairs, translucent polycarbonate. Lattice/strapping underneath roof to allow for hanging climbing hydrangea. For the ground plane, I want a bluestone walking surface which will mirror a preexisting bluestone walkway in the front of the house. On the backside of this connector will be a retaining wall to transition to lower grade behind the garage which will include a granite staircase of 3-4 stairs, matching the 10-foot single granite front step to the front porch. Construction will be done by carpenter familiar with the house. Keep in mind structural integrity to combat severe New England winter weather and snow buildup. I can supply photos and PDF of house plans and elevations (was built 2 years ago). We had sketches of the vision we are looking for. Deliverables • Scaled CAD drawings (plan, elevations, and two sections) showing pergola, walkway, and wall with granite stairs • 3D model or rendered views for visual approval • A concise materials list keyed to the drawings • We do not require permitting for this structure as long as it is not tied into the other structures. I prefer files in DWG and PDF. Once we lock the concept, I’ll review one round of revisions before you prepare final permit sheets.
