Animal Bioacoustics Analysis & Visualization
INR 1500–12500
About the project
Project Title Scientific Animal Bioacoustic Analysis, Audio Cleaning & 3D Visualization Project Overview I am looking for an experienced bioacoustics specialist/audio restoration expert to analyse 8 animal vocalization recordings representing different behavioural contexts. The recordings are field-based and contain varying levels of background noise. The goal is to produce scientifically reliable cleaned audio, publication-quality acoustic analyses and presentation-quality 3D audio visualizations, while preserving the original biological signal. 1. Audio Cleaning & Restoration For all 8 recordings: Background-noise and unwanted environmental noise reduction Wind, hiss, hum, clicks and handling-noise reduction where possible Appropriate filtering and normalization Improved signal-to-noise ratio Preservation of the original frequency and temporal characteristics Export of both original and cleaned WAV files Please document the major processing steps and parameters. Important: Noise reduction must not artificially alter, remove or create important biological acoustic features. 2. Scientific Bioacoustic Analysis For each behavioural call, analyse as many scientifically relevant parameters as the recording quality allows, including: Waveform and call duration Number of pulses/notes Minimum and maximum frequency Peak/dominant frequency Fundamental frequency (F0), where measurable Bandwidth Harmonics/overtones Frequency and amplitude modulation Spectral energy distribution Frequency contour Amplitude envelope Inter-call interval, where applicable Please generate high-resolution spectrograms and power/frequency spectra using consistent settings across all recordings. 3. Publication-Quality Figures I require figures suitable for a peer-reviewed scientific paper, including: Waveforms Spectrograms Power/frequency spectra F0/frequency contours where applicable Amplitude envelopes Comparative plots of acoustic parameters Figures should have clear labels, units, consistent formatting and 300–600 dpi resolution. Vector formats such as PDF/SVG are preferred where possible. 4. Comparative & Statistical Analysis Please prepare a consolidated dataset containing the main acoustic parameters for all 8 calls. Where the sample size supports it, appropriate analyses may include: Descriptive statistics ANOVA or Kruskal–Wallis tests Post-hoc comparisons PCA Cluster analysis Correlation analysis Do not apply statistical tests where the sample size or data structure is insufficient. 5. 3D Audio Visualization & Video For presentation and research communication, I would like the cleaned recordings converted into professional 3D spectrogram/frequency visualizations, similar to this reference: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/jtNGnkscgds The visualization should dynamically respond to the animal's sound and may include: Audio → Waveform → Spectrogram → 3D frequency landscape → Acoustic parameters For each of the 8 calls, I would like a high-quality synchronized video, preferably 1080p or 4K, with behavioural category and frequency scale clearly displayed. These videos will be used for PhD presentations, scientific conferences, seminars, research videos and wildlife communication. 6. Scientific Documentation Please provide a brief methodology/report covering: Software used Noise-reduction procedure Filters and processing parameters Sampling rate and audio specifications Spectrogram/FFT settings Acoustic variables measured Statistical methods Limitations caused by background noise 7. Final Deliverables I expect: 8 original audio files 8 cleaned/restored WAV files Publication-quality waveforms and spectrograms Frequency/power spectra and relevant acoustic plots Comparative acoustic dataset in Excel/CSV Statistical/comparative figures where appropriate 3D audio visualizations 8 presentation-quality video renders Methodology/technical documentation Source files/scripts where applicable Ideal Freelancer Experience in bioacoustics, wildlife/mammalian vocalizations, audio restoration and scientific visualization is strongly preferred. Relevant experience with Raven Pro, Praat, R, Python, Kaleidoscope, MATLAB or similar tools would be an advantage. Please provide examples of previous wildlife bioacoustic analyses, spectrograms, scientific figures or 3D audio visualizations, along with your proposed workflow, estimated timeline and project cost. This is a scientific research project, not simply an audio-editing job. Biological accuracy and preservation of the original acoustic information are the highest priorities.
