About the project
I need a complete odour-control strategy for a municipal wastewater-treatment plant, starting from the process model right through to the engineering calculations. The odours we must tackle are released at three key points—anaerobic digesters, aeration tanks and sludge-dewatering units—so the model has to capture airflow, containment and treatment requirements for each source and then integrate them into a unified system. Scope of work • Build a process model that shows how emissions leave each unit, converge in the ducting network and enter the control equipment. • Size and specify major components (ductwork, fans, chemical or biological scrubbers, carbon beds, stacks). • Produce all supporting calculations: airflow balances, residence times, pressure drop, chemical dosing rates and expected removal efficiencies. • Summarise results in clearly annotated spreadsheets and PDF/AutoCAD drawings so another engineer can peer-review and stamp them. Acceptance criteria 1. The model must quantify odour loads (in ppm H₂S or OU/m³) for each source and for the combined stream. 2. Calculations must demonstrate that the proposed system meets typical WWTP odour limits at the fence line (or state the assumptions used). 3. All equations, standards and assumptions are referenced so values can be back-checked. 4. Deliverables open cleanly in Excel (or similar) and CAD without proprietary plug-ins.
