3D Printing Site, Viewer, Quoter

About the project

I run a 3-D modelling and printing service that focuses on consumer products, and I’m ready to take ordering online. I need a full website—from front-end interface to back-end logic—that lets visitors upload their model, preview it in an embedded 3-D viewer, and receive an instant price approximation based on material choice and overall size. Core requirements • Uploads must accept STL, OBJ and STEP files without size glitches or timeouts. • The instant quote only has to cover basic material and size estimation for now; no multi-material or demand-driven pricing logic is necessary. • An interactive viewer (Three.js, Babylon.js, or similar WebGL library) should render the uploaded model so users can rotate, pan and zoom before ordering. • Clean UI on desktop and mobile, with simple steps: upload → preview → get quote → proceed to checkout (checkout can be a stub; the focus is on the first three steps). • Admin area where I can adjust material rates and review incoming files. Deliverables 1. Fully-functional, responsive website with branded styling. 2. Secure upload handler, file storage and size/material parser that feeds the quoting algorithm. 3. WebGL viewer integrated into the same page or a modal. 4. Admin dashboard with editable price table. 5. Documentation for deployment and future maintenance. Acceptance criteria • Uploads of STL, OBJ and STEP up to my hosting limit parse correctly and display in the viewer within 10 seconds on a standard connection. • Quoting algorithm outputs a price every time based solely on the volume detected and the rate I set. • No console errors in the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and Safari. • Source code and build instructions delivered, with ownership transferred.
