Home Assistant Smart Kitchen Automation & Interactive Dashboard Project Location: Winnabow, NC (Wilmington area) Project Type: Remote configuration, programming, integration, and testing Pricing: Fixed-price proposals requested Project Overview We're remodeling our kitchen and need an experienced Home Assistant specialist to configure and integrate a reliable, attractive, easy-to-use smart-home automation system. Most of the equipment has already been purchased or selected. A licensed electrician is handling physical wiring and installation. We need someone to handle the technical configuration, programming, integrations, automations, and custom touchscreen interface. Our goal is a professional-quality result without the expense of proprietary systems such as Control4 or Savant. Equipment - Home Assistant Green hub - Home Assistant Connect ZBT-2 Zigbee coordinator - Aqara FP2 Wi-Fi presence sensor - 6 Tapo S505D Matter smart dimmers - 11 Sunricher SR-ZG1029-5C Zigbee RGB+CCT controllers - Approximately 44 feet of 24V RGB+CCT COB LED strips - Mean Well 24V power supplies - Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE wall-mounted touchscreen - Amazon Alexa devices - Existing Ring cameras and doorbells - Hardwired Ethernet networking Required Functionality 1. Smart Lighting Configure four independently controllable LED lighting zones: - Above cabinets - Under cabinets - Toe-kick lighting - Under peninsula Include individual and grouped control, dimming, adjustable white temperature, RGB colors, schedules, and coordinated lighting scenes. Integrate compatible ceiling and pendant lighting through the Tapo dimmers. 2. Presence-Based Automation Integrate the Aqara FP2 sensor to detect occupancy and movement within the kitchen. Lighting should respond intelligently to kitchen zones, time of day, and occupancy, with manual overrides. 3. Custom Interactive Floor-Plan Dashboard This is a major priority. We have obtained an existing floor plan of our home and want a polished, intuitive Home Assistant dashboard displayed on the Samsung tablet. Ideally, the dashboard will feature an interactive 2D or 3D representation of our kitchen, allowing users to touch specific areas or fixtures to control lighting. It should also provide scene selection, dimming, colors, sensor status, and access to compatible cameras. We eventually want to expand the dashboard to the entire house. We prefer an existing, proven dashboard solution customized to our home rather than unnecessarily expensive custom software development. 4. Integrations - Alexa voice control - Ring cameras and doorbells, where technically supported - Zigbee and Matter device integration - Network and device reliability - Future expansion capabilities 5. Reliability and Usability The finished system must be easy for nontechnical household members to operate. Priorities include local control wherever practical, dependable operation, a clean interface, minimal maintenance, and avoiding unnecessary subscription fees. Required Deliverables 1. Review the equipment list and identify compatibility problems or better alternatives before installation. 2. Configure Home Assistant, Zigbee, Matter, and supported devices. 3. Program and test lighting scenes, automations, and presence detection. 4. Build and deploy the interactive tablet dashboard. 5. Configure Alexa, Ring, and other supported integrations. 6. Test functionality and provide troubleshooting. 7. Supply configuration backups, basic documentation, and instructions for future maintenance. 8. Provide a defined post-installation support period. Proposal Requirements Please provide: - Relevant Home Assistant project experience. - Screenshots or demonstrations of dashboards you have personally built. - Confirmation you can work remotely with our equipment. - Any anticipated compatibility issues or hardware substitutions. - A fixed total project price with itemized deliverables. - Estimated completion timeline and milestone payments. - Any recurring licensing, cloud, or subscription costs. - What post-installation support is included. Important: We are seeking an affordable, practical solution. Please recommend simpler alternatives where they deliver the same functionality reliably. We will prioritize freelancers with proven Home Assistant experience, strong communication, and a clear fixed-price implementation plan.
