Description
A low-poly model of Aura, the NASA Earth-observing satellite launched in 2004 to study the chemistry of the atmosphere, including ozone, air quality and climate. It shows the gold-foil body with white instrument boxes and radiators, a small dish antenna near the top and the long dark blue solar array stretching out to one side.
Technical details: about 6,100 polygons and 18,000 vertices, UV-mapped, with 9 materials and 1 texture map. The very low count suits mobile, web and real-time scenes. It is scaled to 5 metres for AiZity's catalogue scale.
The download includes GLB for web viewers and three.js, FBX for Unity, Unreal Engine and Maya, OBJ as a widely supported mesh, and BLEND for Blender. Textures come in a separate folder. AiZity cleaned up the original (centred, grounded and renamed the parts) and converted it to these formats.
