Power Electronics / PCB Design Engineer – 30-50kW Solar Inverter (On-Grid, Off-Grid & Hybrid)
INR 100000–1000000
About the project
We are looking for an experienced Power Electronics Engineer / PCB Design Engineer to design three high-power solar inverter systems from scratch: On-Grid (Grid-Tie) Inverter Off-Grid Inverter Hybrid Inverter Power rating: 30kW to 50kW — this is industrial-scale, three-phase equipment, not a residential 1-5kW unit. We need engineers who have specifically worked at this power level before. We will start with one inverter type first (to be confirmed after proposals), then move to the others upon successful completion. We have reference datasheets/manuals from existing market products (ASHAPOWER, TruePower, UTL, Waaree, etc.) that will be shared as benchmarks for specs and features. The design itself must be original/from scratch — not a copy of any existing product. Deliverables Required Full schematic design PCB layout Gerber files (manufacturing-ready) BOM (Bill of Materials) with part numbers, quantities, and suppliers Top/bottom view and 3D render images of the PCB Design files in native format (Altium / KiCad / Eagle / OrCAD) Scope Notes (Hardware Only, Unless Stated Otherwise) This is a hardware design job (schematic + layout + Gerber + BOM), not firmware. If you also do embedded firmware (C/C++ for microcontroller — MPPT logic, protection, monitoring), please mention it separately in your proposal with separate pricing — we may hire this as a second phase. Required Experience Proven prior experience designing DC-AC inverters or solar MPPT circuits at medium-to-high power levels (10kW+, ideally 30kW+ or industrial three-phase systems) Must be able to show past project proof (portfolio, redacted schematics, or reference designs) Strong understanding of: MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) High-power switching stages (IGBTs, not just MOSFETs — typical at this wattage) Filter design (inductors/capacitors) for clean sine wave output Three-phase output topology Battery Management System (BMS) integration for off-grid/hybrid units Safety/protection circuitry (overcurrent, overvoltage, thermal, isolation) Experience with Indian certification standards (BIS) is a plus; mention if you also have CE/UL experience Questions to Answer in Your Proposal Have you designed an inverter at 30kW or higher before? Please share proof/examples. What tool do you use — Altium, KiCad, Eagle, or OrCAD? Do you offer firmware as well, or hardware only? What is your estimated timeline for schematic + layout + Gerber + BOM for one inverter type at this power level? How many design revisions are included in your quote before additional charges apply? Can you confirm single-phase or three-phase output — and do you recommend three-phase at 30-50kW? What is your quote for one inverter type (hardware only) and for all three types combined? Budget & Timeline Please quote based on your experience — at 30-50kW, expect meaningfully higher cost and longer timelines than typical small residential (1-5kW) inverter designs, due to IGBT-based high-power switching, thermal design, and three-phase complexity. Realistic ballpark for reference only (subject to your actual quote): schematic + layout + Gerber + BOM at this power range is typically several multiples of small-inverter pricing — please provide your own detailed quote rather than relying on a generic range. We are open to discussing milestone-based payment (e.g., schematic approval → layout → Gerber/BOM delivery). How to Apply Please include: Relevant past projects (especially anything 10kW+, ideally 30kW+, or three-phase) Tools you use Your quote and timeline Whether you can also do firmware, separately quoted Note: We will confirm exact specs (input voltage range, MPPT channel count, certification target, display/monitoring requirements, quantity — prototype vs. mass production) with shortlisted candidates before finalizing the contract.
