About the project

I have an interior door with a small plastic part that has finally failed; without it, the handle can’t engage properly. I’ve taken clear photos from every angle and can supply quick measurements so you can replicate the piece accurately. The part is purely functional, not decorative, so strength matters more than looks. High durability is essential because the handle sees daily use. I’m open to your advice on the exact resin—ABS, polycarbonate, nylon or another equivalent—as long as the final choice delivers long-term reliability. Here’s how I picture the workflow: you study the reference photos, confirm the key dimensions with me, then model the replacement in CAD. Once we agree the geometry is right, you either send me a print-ready STL/STEP or arrange a small-batch 3D print so I can test-fit it. If the prototype clicks in perfectly and the handle operates smoothly, we’re done; if not, we’ll iterate once more until it does. Please let me know which design software and printing method you prefer, your typical turnaround, and whether you can ship a physical sample or just provide files. Looking forward to getting the door working again.
