About the project

I need an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to review, validate and finalise a motorcycle LED mounting system. The system supports a 5–6 kg LED cabinet and is mounted on a motorcycle rear rack. It includes a universal rack mounting base, two telescopic aluminium arms, a transverse structural bar, a T-shaped LED support and a quick-release locking mechanism. I already have a detailed preliminary engineering specification with dimensions and preliminary structural calculations. The attached technical document is a preliminary engineering specification and starting point, not a final design that must be reproduced without changes. The engineer must independently review the design, calculations, dimensions, materials and mechanical interfaces, and correct or redesign any component considered technically necessary. Required scope: Review and validate the existing technical document and engineering calculations. Check structural strength and stiffness for motorcycle use. Identify vibration and fatigue risks. Correct and optimise the mechanical design where necessary. Fully define every mechanical component and interface. Finalise the telescopic arm and locking system. Validate and fully engineer the quick-release and secondary safety mechanism. Create a complete 3D CAD assembly. Create individual CAD models for every custom part. Produce STL/3MF files for functional 3D printed prototyping. Produce STEP files for final aluminium 6061-T6 production. Produce complete 2D manufacturing drawings. Define tolerances, fits and GD&T where required. Provide a complete BOM and fastener specification. Perform engineering calculations and basic structural/static FEA validation of the final design. Provide assembly instructions. Important: I do not need someone to simply convert the attached document into CAD. I need a Mechanical Design Engineer who can independently review, correct, optimise and finalise the mechanical system. The objective is a safe, solid, vibration-resistant and manufacturable mounting system for real motorcycle use, supporting a 5–6 kg LED cabinet. Advanced ANSYS vibration and fatigue analysis is not included in this first phase and may be commissioned separately after the final geometry is defined. Experience with motorcycle accessories, automotive mounting systems, vibration-loaded structures, CNC aluminium parts and quick-release mechanisms is strongly preferred. Final deliverables: Engineering review of the existing concept Final validated mechanical design Complete 3D CAD assembly Individual CAD parts STEP files STL/3MF prototype files Complete 2D manufacturing drawings Tolerances and GD&T BOM Fastener specification Basic structural/static FEA validation Assembly instructions
