About the project

I run a young mechanical design studio and, as our automotive workload grows, I’m looking for a reliable freelancer who can jump straight into CAD modeling projects. The immediate need is to turn hand-sketches, legacy 2D files, or rough concepts into clean, fully-parametric 3D models that are ready for manufacturing. Accuracy, practicality, and speed all matter because these parts move quickly from design review to the machine shop. Most of the work centres on automotive brackets, housings, light sheet-metal enclosures, and small assemblies. You’ll be working inside the toolchain we already use—SolidWorks and, on occasion, Inventor—so native files in those formats are essential. A typical assignment involves creating the 3D model, updating or generating the associated 2D drawings, and flagging any manufacturability or tolerance issues you notice along the way. Deliverables for each task • Native SolidWorks or Inventor part/assembly files • Associated 2D manufacturing drawings (PDF + DWG/DXF) • A brief note on design assumptions or critical tolerances If you have a track record in automotive CAD modeling and can commit to quick, transparent communication, I’d like to hear how you’d approach this kind of rolling project support and see a sample of similar work you’ve completed.
