Included formats
GLBFBXOBJBlender
Description
The Apollo Lunar Module, the two-stage lander that carried astronauts to the Moon's surface from 1969 to 1972. It shows the gold-foiled descent stage with its four landing legs and footpads, the ladder on the front leg, and the angular ascent stage that carried the crew back to orbit.
Technical details: about 98,000 polygons and 65,000 vertices, UV-mapped, with 12 materials and 3 texture maps. That holds up in close-up renders and still runs in real time on desktop. The model is scaled to 5 metres across the legs for AiZity's catalogue scale; the real lander stood about 7 metres tall.
The download includes GLB for web viewers and three.js, FBX for Unity, Unreal Engine and Maya, OBJ as a widely supported mesh, and BLEND for Blender. Textures come in a separate folder. AiZity cleaned up the original (centred, grounded and renamed the parts) and converted it to these formats.
Good for Moon landing lessons, Apollo history explainers, lunar surface scenes and documentary graphics.
License: Public domain, made by NASA/Michael D. Carbajal (a U.S. government work). Free for personal and commercial use; please credit NASA. NASA logos and insignia are not included, and use must not suggest NASA endorsement.
