“Space Shuttle (D)” by NASA/Johnson Space Center · Public Domain Mark 1.0
Changes: cleaned up (centered, grounded, renamed), rescaled from centimeters to meters, converted to GLB/FBX/OBJ/BLEND, web-optimized viewer copy.
Description
Technical details: about 19,000 polygons and 14,000 vertices, UV-mapped, with 42 materials and 11 texture maps; light enough for real-time and web scenes. It is scaled to 20 metres for AiZity's catalogue scale; the real orbiter is about 37 metres long.
The download includes GLB for web viewers and three.js, FBX for Unity, Unreal Engine and Maya, OBJ as a widely supported mesh, and BLEND for Blender. Textures come in a separate folder. AiZity cleaned up the original (centred, grounded and renamed the parts) and converted it to these formats.
Good for space history lessons, launch and orbit animations, documentary graphics and museum-style displays.
License: Public domain, made by NASA/Johnson Space Center (a U.S. government work). Free for personal and commercial use; please credit NASA. NASA logos and insignia are not included, and use must not suggest NASA endorsement. The textures include the NASA insignia, so this model is marked for editorial use.
