Description
The Saturn V, the three-stage rocket that launched the Apollo missions to the Moon, modelled with its white stages, black roll pattern, US flag markings, the Apollo spacecraft at the top and the launch escape tower above it.
Technical details: about 35,000 polygons and 22,000 vertices, UV-mapped, with 13 materials and 4 texture maps. The low count suits real-time scenes and web viewers. The model is scaled to 20 metres for AiZity's catalogue scale; the real rocket stood about 111 metres tall.
The download includes GLB for web viewers and three.js, FBX for Unity, Unreal Engine and Maya, OBJ as a widely supported mesh, and BLEND for Blender. Textures come in a separate folder. AiZity cleaned up the original (centred, grounded and renamed the parts) and converted it to these formats.
Good for Apollo and space history lessons, launch animations, museum displays and documentary graphics.
License: Public domain, made by NASA/Michael D. Carbajal (a U.S. government work). Free for personal and commercial use; please credit NASA. NASA logos and insignia are not included, and use must not suggest NASA endorsement.
