Design a stair lift 1. Cost & Bill of Materials • Complete parts list with quantities, materials, suppliers & unit costs • Clear breakdown: parts cost + manufacturing cost → total per-unit price 2. Manufacturing & Assembly • Production methods, machining specs, tolerances & finishes for every component • Step-by-step assembly sequence + key quality checkpoints • Notes on fabrication feasibility & production scalability 3. Safety, Risk & Environment • Full hazard identification: mechanical, electrical & operational risks • Risk assessment + control measures & built-in safety features • Emergency systems: stop button, obstruction detection, overload protection, backup power, fail-safe braking • Environmental considerations: material selection, recyclability, energy efficiency & end-of-life disposal 4. CAD & Engineering Drawings • 3D models: all individual components + full assembled unit • 2D production drawings: fully dimensioned, toleranced, section views & assembly details • Standard file formats + PDF drawing package 5. Structural / FEA Analysis • Select key structural part (rail, carriage, frame or support bracket) • Simulate under rated load + worst-case conditions • Stress distribution, deflection & safety factor calculations • Summary report with findings & recommendations
